For the second consecutive day, junior midfielder
Tammy Kohanski (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) netted two goals in the final ten minutes of play to lift the Utica College women's lacrosse team to a 10-7 victory over Empire 8 Conference foe Alfred University. Kohanski, the College's all-time leading scorer, finished the day with six goals and one assist to give her 13 points in a span of two games.
Maria Santucci (Holliston, MA/Marian) added one goal and two assists for Utica.
The Saxons were able to start off the first half strong as they jumped out to a 3-0 lead within the games first ten minutes. Sophomore

Lily Fleskes (Dover, MA/Dover Sherborn) (Dover, MA) put in her 11th goal of the season off a free position and UC entered halftime with the game tied at 5-5.
In the second half, Kohnaski continued to find the back of the net as she landed her third goal of the day at the 26:58 mark off an assist from Santucci. She went on to score three more in the second half for a game-high six goals to bring her season point total to 41. The Pioneers were able to hold off the Saxons as they went on to win 10-7.
Sophomore
Shelby Barbay (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) earned her fifth win of the season as she posted a complete game with five saves.
The Pioneers improve to 5-6 overall and 3-4 in conference as the Alfred falls to 5-7 on the season and 1-6 in the Empire 8.
Utica College will look to make it three in a row Tuesday as they travel to Hamilton College for a game at Campus Road Athletic Fields with an expected start time of 4:30 p.m.
