The Utica College softball team lost both games Saturday to Ithaca College in a conference double header at Kostrinsky Field. The Pioneers dropped to 10-24 overall and 4-10 in conference play, while the Bombers improve to 22-10 on the season and remain in first place in the Empire 8 with a record of 11-1.
In game one, Utica was shutdown completely, losing 10-0 in five innings. Ithaca's Allison Greany got her ninth win of the season pitching a complete game, one hit shutout. UC's only hit came in the second inning from senior second basemen Angel Donaghue.
In the second game, Utica put together a first inning run however could not keep up with Bombers offense and lost 13-1 in five innings. First basemen Bridgette Plummer homered with two outs in the second inning to give the Pioneers their only run of the afternoon.
The Pioneers are back in action Sunday as they continue their road trip traveling to Hoboken, NJ to face Stevens Institute of Technology. The Ducks are currently 7-25 overall and last in the Empire 8 with a record of 0-10.
