Senior Roberto Sgueglia (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) is having a week to remember, netting his second consecutive game-winner, as he guided the Utica College men's soccer team to a 3-2 overtime victory over host Keuka College Friday night. The Pioneers, winners of six in a row, netted two goals in the second half after falling behind 2-0 in the first 45 minutes. Freshman Jon Peterson (Bedford, NH/New Hampton) connected with Sgueglia, who had the Pioneers final two goals, just 1:43 into overtime to give Utica a one goal victory.

Sgueglia also assisted on the Pioneers first tally of the game, which cut the Keuka lead to 2-1, scored by freshman Trevor Hoxsie (Scarborough, ME/Scarborough) at 74:35. All three of the Pioneers' goals came in a span of 17:28 to close out the game.

The Pioneers out shot the Storm 36-6 on the day. Keuka's goals came at 5:56 and 21:33 in the first half of play.

UC freshman goalie Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) made three saves in his sixth straight victory, while his counterpart Kyle Salo stopped 17 shots in net for the Storm.

Sgueglia now has a conference-best 19 points (seven goals, five assists) on the year. As a team, the Pioneers lead the Empire 8 with 59 points scored.

UC returns to the pitch next Saturday at 7 p.m. when it opens conference play against Alfred University. The contest is a part of the College's homecoming weekend.
