The Utica College men's soccer team returns home Saturday to take on nationally-ranked #20 Stevens Institute of Technology for their last regular season Empire 8 conference game of the year. If UC beats Stevens and Elmira loses to Ithaca, the Pioneers will earn a spot in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament for the fourth time in five years.

REGIONALLY-RANKED: The Utica College men's soccer team earned the 10th spot in the latest NSCAA East Regional rankings release Tuesday…They are also ranked ninth in the region by the NCAA.

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers lost in a local non-conference game Tuesday when they traveled to Clinton to take on Hamilton College…Freshman John Kamilow (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) scored his third goal of the season off an assist from junior Jeff Konieczny (Hadley, MA/Hopkins).

WHERE WE SIT:  UC is 11-6 overall and 2-3 in the Empire 8 Conference… Their loss to Hamilton on Tuesday was their only loss by more than one goal.

LAST TIME UC FACED STEVENS: The last time UC met Stevens was in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament last season…UC fell 3-0 at DeBaun field in Hoboken, NJ...The Pioneers finished the year with a school record of 12 wins last season.

LEADING THE WAY: Sophomore Kevin McAllister (Boxford, MA/Masconomet Regional) leads the team in goals (eight) and points (21)… He is tied for first in the conference in points and tied for second in the conference in goals… Senior captain Jonathon Wood leads the team in assists (six) and is second on the team in points (18) and goals (six).

SHARING THE WEALTH: 14 Pioneers have netted at least one goal through 17 games so far.

SHUTTING THE DOOR:  Goalkeeper Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) has given up just 17 goals in 17 games this season… He has tallied seven shutouts so far and has a goals-against average of .80.

SCOUTING STEVENS: The Ducks are 13-2-0 overall and are undefeated in the Empire 8 Conference with a 5-0 record… They have won their last 12 games in a row…Stevens is led by Zach Adler with 21 points…He has six goals and nine assists this season.
