Utica, NY – The Utica College softball team (11-11, 2-4 Empire 8) will play back-to-back double headers against SUNY opponents on Tuesday and Wednesday at Greenman Field. The non-conference games are scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. on both days.
On Tuesday, UC will challenge cross-town rival SUNY Institute of Technology. The Wildcats are currently 14-5 overall and have a 10-2 record in the NEAC. Last season, SUNY beat Utica in a double-header by scores of 20-3, in five innings, and 9-4.
On Wednesday, the Pioneers will host SUNY Oswego, who currently holds a 5-14 overall record and has a 1-7 mark in SUNYAC play. Last season, UC beat the Lakers 10-0, in five innings, and lost game two 5-2. In recent years, the teams' are 5-5 against each other dating back to the 2006 season.

Mallory Ingalls (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) who currently leads the team in average (.429), hits (33), runs (22), RBI's (21) and doubles (eight). Sophomore first baseman
Bridgette Plummer (Saratoga Springs, NY/Schuylerville) is second in average (.365), hits (27), doubles (four) and tied for first in runs (22). Senior center fielder
Kim Martin (Prospect, NY/Holland Patent) is batting .333 with a team-high seven stolen bases. Martin also is second in runs scored (21) and third in hits (25).
Following Wednesday's games, UC returns to Empire 8 action Saturday and Sunday as they host conference rivals Nazareth and St. John Fisher College's. Game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. both days and will be held at Greenman Field.
