Utica, NY – The Utica College women's lacrosse team will host back-to-back games this weekend against Empire 8 Conference rivals Elmira College and Alfred University. Both games will be held at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium and are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
On Saturday, the Pioneers will challenge Elmira College. The Soaring Eagles currently hold a 4-5 overall record including a 4-5 mark in conference play. Last season on Apr. 16, Utica won 11-9 on the road at Campus Field. UC has won the last three meetings and holds a 6-4 ledger against Elmira in heads-up play.
On Sunday, UC will welcome Alfred University to its home turf. The Saxons are winless at 0-7 overall as well as 0-4 in the conference. The Pioneers beat Alfred last season, 10-7, on Apr. 17 at Merrill Field. Utica beat AU the last five meetings and are 6-4 against them all-time in heads-up play.

Tammy Kohanski (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran). Kohanski currently leads the squad in all major categories including points (29), goals (17), assists (12), and caused turnovers (18). Senior
Katlyn Banker (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) is second in points with 25 on 13 goals and 12 assists. Senior
Lily Fleskes (Dover, MA/Dover Sherborn) also has 13 goals and is tied with Banker for second.

Shelby Barbay (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) currently has 107 saves while allowing 98 goals for a 10.14 goals allowed average.
Following the weekend set, the Pioneers return to action Wednesday, April, 17 as they travel to play SUNY Oneonta. The Red Dragons are currently 2-9 on the season including a 2-2 record in SUNYAC play. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
