Utica, NY (4-20-11) – The Utica College women's lacrosse team (6-6, 3-4 Empire 8) heads to SUNY Oneonta Wednesday for a non-conference match-up. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. and will be held at All College Field and Track.

Oneonta is currently 2-10 overall including a 2-3 record in SUNYAC play. Last season, UC lost to the Red Dragons in its home opener, 15-5, on Mar. 6. Utica looks to change history Wednesday as SUNY holds an undefeated record against the Pioneers in eight attempts. The Red Dragons have an average margin of victory of 9.5 goals per contest against UC.

The Pioneers are led by senior Tammy Kohanski (Syracuse, NY/Corcoran) who is the programs' all-time leading scorer. Kohanski is second in the conference in points averaging 4.75 per contest and fourth in goals with an average of 3.08 per game. She also leads the conference in caused turnovers with an average of 2.42 per game. Senior Katlyn Banker (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) is second in points (33), goals (18), and assists (15).

In net for UC is reining Goalie of the Year, junior Shelby Barbay (Waterloo, NY/Waterloo) who is currently leading the conference in saves (9.91 Avg/G) and save percentage (.522). Barbay has 109 total saves a team-high 31 groundballs.

The Pioneers return to action Friday as they travel to Rochester, NY for their last Empire 8 Conference contest against St. John Fisher College. The game will be held at Growney Stadium and is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. The Cardinals currently hold an 8-5 overall record while maintain a 3-3 mark in Empire 8 play.
