Utica, NY – Senior Kim Martin (Prospect, NY/Holland Patent), sophomore Bridgette Plummer (Saratoga Springs, NY/Schuylerville), and freshman Mallory Ingalls (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany), of the Utica College softball team, were named to National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region Team

Monday. Martin was named to the first-team, Ingalls earned second team status and Plummer received third-team recognition.

Martin is the Colleges' all-time leader in hits (215), runs (124), and total bases (258). She ranks first all-time in career batting average (.425) and on base percentage (.464). This season, the left hander led the conference in runs scored (41), was second in hits (50), third in stolen bases (10) and fifth in average (.413) as she earned all-conference first-team status. The lead-off hit safely in 30-of-35 games while recording 15 multi-hit contests and ended her senior campaign with 4-for-4 performance at the plate to go along with four runs scored. In her career, the centerfielder batted above .400 and was a first team all-conference member all four years.
Bridgette Plummer

Ingalls was second on the team in average (.386), hits (49), runs (35), doubles (eight) and third in RBI's (30) and home runs (four). The catcher led the E8 in pick offs with six, was third in runs scored and fifth in hits as she was named to the all-conference second-team. She recorded 18 multi-hit contests throughout the season and streaked in the beginning of April with 16 hits, 14 RBI's and 12 runs scored during her eight game hitting streak.

Plummer also received all-conference first-team while registering a .385 mark at the dish while leading the E8 in total bases (73). She was second in the conference with 13 doubles and led UC with a .598 slugging percentage. This season, she registered 16 multi-hit games and 11 games with two or more runs scored. In her young career, the left-handed first baseman has started in 75-of-75 games while posting a .376 average and tallying 96 hits.

The Pioneers finished their 2012 campaign with their best record since the 2006 season. UC concluded the season with an 18-17 overall record including a 5-9 mark in the competitive Empire 8 Conference.
