Volleyball Wraps Up Weekend at Elmira Invitational

UC heads to Hamilton Wednesday for a heads-up match against the Continentals

Utica, NY (9-12-11) – The Utica College volleyball team lost a pair of games on Saturday as they wrapped up the two day tournament at the Elmira College Invitational. Senior Aundrea Dorie (Mount Markham, NY /Mount Markham) led the Pioneers with a combined 13 digs and seven kills over the course of both matches.

In game one against the host Golden Eagles, UC lost 25-6, 25-13, and 25-8. Dorie tallied a team-high five digs and two kills. Sophomore Leah Kazalski (Greene, NY/Greene) added four digs while setter frreshman Jena Annable registered three digs, two assists and one kill for Utica.

In the second game, the Pioneers faced SUNY New Paltz and also lost all three games. They were defeated 25-17, 25-14, and 25-9. UC was again led by Dorie who posted nine digs and five kills in game two. Kazalski added seven digs for Utica, while Annable tallied three digs, three assists, and one kill.

The Pioneers return to the hardwood Wednesday as they travel across town to face local rival Hamilton College in a heads-up match. The Continentals are currently 6-2 overall this season. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at the Scott Field House in Clinton, NY
