Utica, NY (9-7-11) – The Utica College volleyball team lost 3-1 to non-conference rival Cazenovia Wednesday night at the Clark Athletic Center.  Senior 
Aundrea Dorie (Mount Markham, NY /Mount Markham) led UC with eight digs, seven kills, four service aces and one block.
UC falls to 0-2 overall on the season, while the Wildcats recorded their first win of the seaso
n and improved to 1-5.
In the first match, Utica came out strong and won 25-18.  The Pioneers were led by freshman 
Alyssa Nicotera (New York Mills, NY/New York Mills) who tallied three kills. Nicotera finished the night with six digs, five kills and one ace.
In the second match, Cazenovia answered with a 25-11 victory.  Dorie and sophomore 
Liz Sacco (Franklin, Mass. /Franklin) each added two kills.  Sacco tallied five kills, two assists, two solo blocks and one dig on the evening.
UC dropped the next two matches by a total of six points (23-25, 21-25) as the Pioneers remain winless on the early season. Freshman 
Ashley Jones (Charlton, NY/Galway) recorded four kills in the third match and also added one dig and a solo block on the night.

Mimi O'Hara (Highland Falls, NY/James I. O'Neill) accounted for 49-of-52 Utica assists.  Annable registered 31 to go along with one kill, dig, and ace.  O'Hara added 18 assists, one kill and one ace.
The Pioneers return to the hardwood Friday as they travel to Elmira, NY for the Elmira College Invitational.  On Friday, UC is scheduled to square off against Houghton at 3 p.m. and Hartwick at 5 p.m.  On Saturday, Utica will challenge the host Elmira at 12 p.m. and then SUNY New Paltz at 2 p.m.
