Utica, NY (1-13-12) – The Utica College women's basketball team hits the road Friday in search of their first win in the Empire 8 Conference.  The Pioneers head to Hoboken, NJ on Friday for a 6 p.m. scheduled tip-off against Stevens Institute of Technology and then to Oneonta, NY Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. tip with Hartwick College.

Game Sites: Friday's contest will be held at the Walker Gymnasium on Steven's campus in Hoboken, NJ … Saturday's game will take place at Binder Gym on the campus of Hartwick.

Pioneers Midway Through: UC is currently 5-7 overall including a 0-2 mark in the E8 and the Pioneers have lost five straight … 12 of the Pioneers' final 13 games will be conference contests.

Team Leader's: Sophomore forward Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping) and senior guard Katie McGee (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth) lead the Pioneers and are among the league leaders in Empire 8 as well … Fiore, averaging 15.8 points per game, ranks third in scoring and is fourth in rebounding, grabbing 8.6 a game … McGee ranks in the top 10 in nine different categories in the E8 ... She is first in assists (5.2 Avg/G) and minutes played (36.8 Avg/G), fourth in 3-point percentage (.404%) and fifth in steals (2.4 Avg/G) … She is also seventh in assist/turnover ratio (0.9 Ratio) and defensive rebounding (4.7 Avg/G) ... She also ranks ninth in scoring (12.8 Avg/G).

The Challengers: Both Stevens and Hartwick are undefeated at 2-0 in E8 play … The Ducks, however, are 5-6 overall while the Hawks are 9-2 … They are presently tied for first with Ithaca in the conference standings.

Pioneers vs. the Opposition: Since joining the conference in the 2007-08 season, the Ducks are 8-3 against UC … Two of Utica's three wins came in post-season play … All 11 battles have been decided by nine points or less … The Pioneers hold an 8-2 advantage against the Hawks since 2005-06 and have won seven consecutive meetings … Hartwick last beat Utica, 82-77, back on Feb. 1, 2008.

Drew Upcoming: Following the weekend double-header, UC will host Drew University on Tuesday in its last non-conference contest of the season … Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at the Clark Athletic Center … The Rangers, currently 4-8, have lost five in row and face Scranton University and Moravian College this weekend ... It will be a homecoming for Drew Head Coach Brittany Gaetano, who is originally from nearby New Hartford, N.Y.
