Utica, NY (1-24-12) – The Utica College women's basketball team is geared up to host another back-to-back, Empire 8 Conference, weekend at the Clark Athletic Center.
Game Details: On Friday, the Pioneers welcome Hartwick College to the Clark Athletic Center for a 6 p.m. scheduled tip-off, before turning right back around to take on Stevens Saturday at 2 p.m.
Team UC: Utica presently maintains a 7-11 record overall with a 2-5 ledger in the Empire 8 Conference … UC had its two-game win streak snapped Tuesday, on the road, against Ithaca College, 61-29 … The Bombers remain undefeated atop the E8 at 7-0 and will visit the Clark Athletic Center for game-two of the season series on Saturday, Feb. 18; both teams' final regular season game.
Utica vs. the Rivals: Last season, UC swept Hartwick by scores of 71-60 and 63-52, yet the Pioneers lost to Stevens, 44-37 and 60-58 … In recent years, Utica holds a 10-2 record against the Hawks, including a seven game winning streak … HC last beat UC back on Feb. 1, 2008, 82-77 … Stevens joined the Empire 8 in 2007-08 and has had UC's number, winning seven of eight regular season match ups … However, the teams have met three times in post-season play with the Pioneers winning two of those three meetings.

Katie McGee (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth) sits in the top 10 in nine different categories in the conference stat report … McGee leads the league in assists (5.2 Avg/G), is second in minutes (37.0 Avg/G) and fourth in 3-point percentage (38%), 3-pointers made (1.6 Avg/G) and assist/turnover ratio (0.9 Ratio) … She also ranks sixth in steals (2.4 Avg/G) and is tied for eighth in scoring (12.9 Avg/G).
Fiore Dominates Down Low: Junior forward
Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping) needs five points to become the tenth player in program history to score 1,000 or more points in a career … Fiore currently ranks second in the Empire 8 in scoring (17.2 Avg/G) and she is third in rebounding (9.2 Avg/G) … She has four double-doubles this season including a recent 24 point/19 rebound effort on Saturday, Jan. 21 as UC beat Elmira, 82-76.
Scouting the Hawks: Hartwick College holds second place in the conference standings with a 6-1 record while posting a 14-3 overall mark … The Hawks have won five straight, all by ten points or more, as well as 13 of their last 14 games … 'Wicks six conference victories have come by an average margin of 16.1 points per contest.
