Bid On a Jersey Right Here!

Utica, N.Y. (10/12/2012) - On Saturday, Oct. 20th the Utica College men's hockey team will join forces with AmeriCU Credit Union and KISS FM to support the American Heart Association through their "I Heart Hockey Night!" initiative. The UC hockey program will wear collector's edition “Heart” jerseys in its game against Fredonia State at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The puck is scheduled to drop at 7 p.m.

The jerseys are currently being auctioned off on the Utica College men's hockey page at the UC athletics website (www.ucpioneers.com). Just click on the 'I Heart Hockey' link at the top of the men's hockey page and it will direct you to the bidding list. You can bid on a jersey by sending an e-mail to men's hockey assistant Alex Dawes (amdawes@utica.edu), with your name, address and amount you would like to bid. Fans can also bid on the Heart jerseys on the day of the game at the Utica Memorial Auditorium beginning at 6 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association.

“The Mohawk Valley has been extremely supportive of our community service efforts in the past and we look forward to another great event on Saturday night,” said UC Men's Hockey Coach Gary Heenan. “This is just one way that we try to give back, while helping out the American Heart Association along the way. We also wanted to thank AmeriCU and KISS FM for their generous support of the event.”

The minimum bid for a red jersey is $100 and you can also purchase the jersey immediately for $300. Bidding must be made in increments of $5. Online bidding at www.ucpioneers.com will close at 5 p.m. on Oct. 19th. It will re-open on the day of the game at the Aud.

There will be a special puck dropping ceremony on the night of the event and KISS FM will have its CASH CUBE on hand. Two lucky contestants will have a chance to grab as much cash as possible in the CASH CUBE during intermissions.
