Utica, NY ( 10/12/12)- The Utica College men's soccer team squares off against the 6-2-4 Ithaca Bombers this homecoming weekend, Saturday at 7 p.m. on the turf and under the lights at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium.
Last Time Out: The Pioneers are coming off a 2-1 win over Wells College on Wednesday… Junior
Kevin McAllister (Boxford, MA/Masconomet Regional) scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season, while sophomore
Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) netted his first of the year.
Home Field Advantage: Four of the Pioneers' five wins have come at Charles A. Gaetano Stadium this season … UC is now 4-1-1 on its home turf … The Pioneers are 1-6 away from Gaetano.
How We Stack Up: The Pioneers (5-7-1, 0-3 Empire 8) have outscored their opponents 25-17 through 13 games this season … UC has scored 14 goals in the second half … The Pioneers are particularly stingy in the first half of contests, holding their opponents to just five first half goals… Utica has outshot its opponents 179-145 this season and they have also earned a 78-51 corner kick advantage.

Kevin McAllister (Boxford, MA/Masconomet Regional) needs just one point to move into sole possession of third place on the College's all-time scoring list… His 42 career points (17 goals, eight assists) is currently tied with 2012 graduate Jon Wood for third on the list.
Spreading the Wealth: 13 different Pioneers have scored at least one goal on the season… Junior Jonathan Peterson is second on the team with three goals and four assists while classmate
Alex Sheridan (East Islip, NY/St. John the Baptist) has a team-high six assists.
Scouting Ithaca: The Bombers are 3-0-1 in the E8… They are coming off a 2-1 overtime loss at Hamilton on Tuesday… Ithaca is led by sophomore Tim Goldman who has three goals and an assist on the year… The Pioneers are 2-9 against Ithaca dating back to 2003… Last Year the Bombers beat UC 2-1.
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers remain home next Saturday as they face Alfred University for an Empire 8 contest… Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
