Box Score Troy, NY (10/24/12)- The Utica College volleyball team snapped a three-game losing streak Wednesday as is defeated host Russell Sage College, 3-1.
The Pioneers dropped the first game 20-25, before rebounding to win the next three (25-23, 30-28, 25-12).
Sophomore
Madison Bayer (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) led the way for UC with 19 kills. Bayer also had two service aces, and 19 digs, while classmates
Chelsea Lauria (Erieville, NY/Cazenovia) (19 assists) and
Kellee Furno (Baltimore, MD/Maryvalle) (17 assists) also had impressive evenings.
Briona Enny (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) had a team-high 26 digs, with Furno adding 22 digs of her own.
The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they travel to Cazenovia for the final game of the season. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
