Hoboken, NJ (10-6-12) – The Utica College men's soccer team continues to struggle as it lost another tough game Saturday to Stevens Institute of Technology, 3-1, on the road. Junior
Kevin McAllister (Boxford, MA/Masconomet Regional) netted the Pioneers lone goal in the 67th minute.
UC, now 4-7-1 overall and 0-3 in the Empire 8,
prepares for a four game home stretch beginning on Tuesday Oct. 9 against Wells College. The Pioneers then gear up for back-to-back Empire 8 battles with Ithaca College on Oct. 13th and Alfred University on Oct. 20th.
The home team jumped out to an early lead, at 11:42, as Stephen Dunbar converted a cross pass from Victor Daza into the back of the net to give Stevens a 1-0 edge.
Just under six minutes later, at 17:40, the Ducks put home another score to take a 2-0 advantage. Forward Zeke Hemme put home a header off a deep set from Zach Adler to give the home team a two score lead headed into halftime.
Stevens out shot UC 9-5 in the first half along with a 3-0 advantage on corner kicks.
Following almost 50 minutes of scoreless action, UC finally got on the board as McAllister dazzled one of his famous flying headers off a direct corner from junior Jefrey Cupka cutting the lead to one score, 2-1, at 67:12. McAllister leads the team with eight goals, one assist and 15 points.
The Ducks, however, would chip in another goal at 80:02 en route to their eighth straight win and fourth in conference play. Stevens holds an overall mark of 10-2 including a perfect 4-0 in the competitive E8.

Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) stopped three shots however allowed three scores while Duck's goalie Paul Killian recorded four saves and tallied his tenth win of the year.
