Ashton, Pa. (11/10/2012) – Neumann University's Jordan Zalba netted a second period goal and that was all the hosts would need to hand nationally-ranked No. 10 Utica College its first loss of the season on Saturday night.  The Pioneers (4-1, 2-1 ECAC West) could not complete the weekend sweep of the Knights, as they lost 1-0, after coming from behind to earn a 3-2 victory on Friday night.

UC had a two minute power play in the second half of the third period but it could not convert as the Knights moved their overall record to 2-2. Neumann earned a 23-21 shot advantage on the day and slipped one goal past UC sophomore goalie Mike Taffe (Maple Grove, MN/Amarillo (NAHL)), who finished the evening with 22 saves.

Both teams were held scoreless on the power-play as the Pioneers went 0-for-4 and the Knights went 0-for-3.  Neumann goalie Braely Torris stopped all 21 shots he faced and Dan McDougall was credited with an assist on the Knight's lone goal of the evening.

UC returns to home on Friday when it host Elmira College for the first of a Friday/Saturday set at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.  Friday night is the First Source “Puck For Posters Night” at the Aud, where First Source Federal Credit Union will team up with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to help spread awareness and promote Central New York's Annual Ride for Missing Children event.  Both contest against the Soaring Eagles will begin at 7 p.m. next weekend.
