Fiore Closing In: Senior
Meghan Fiore (Epping, NH/Epping) is just four points away from moving into sole possession of sixth place on the College's all-time scoring list, currently held by Pioneer Hall of Famer Daphne Selby… Fiore has 1,190 points in her career and needs just 17 rebounds to become the sixth player in program-history to record over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in a career.
Greenwald Doubling Up: Junior
Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) is currently averaging a double-double with 10.2 points and 11.4 rebounds per game… She leads the team with 57 rebounds and is second on the squad with 51 points through the five games… On Monday she had a career-high 22 boards in the Pioneers' loss to Oneonta.
Stayer is Stellar: Sophomore
Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) had a career-best 23 points and was 3-for-3 from the line in UC's 73-51 victory over Wells on Thursday… She opened the game with 12 of the team's first 16 points… On the season, Stayer has scored 44 points and grabbed 26 boards to help pace the Pioneers.
Miceli Fitting In: Freshman
Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) is fitting in nicely to the college game… The guard has netted 43 points and added 26 rebounds for an average of 8.6 points and 5.2 boards per game…. She is also 10-of-15 on free throws.
Scouting Hamilton: The Continentals are 1-3 overall and are coming off a 68-49 win over Union on Wednesday… Hamilton is led by senior, Eliza Howe, who has totaled 59 points and is averaging 14.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game… UC is 2-5 against Hamilton in the last seven years… Last season, UC left Clinton with a 48-44 win behind 21 points and ten rebounds from Fiore… All seven games have been close, with no margin of victory being more than ten points.
Looking Ahead: Following Saturday's game, the Pioneers travel to Oneonta, NY on Tuesday as they open up Empire 8 Conference play against Hartwick College… Game time is 6 p.m.
