Elmira, NY -- The Utica College men's tennis team lost its fourth contest of the season, 8-1, against host Elmira College in Empire 8 Conference action on Saturday afternoon. Utica's
Jon Gorman (South Kingstown, RI/South Kingstown) won his third singles match (6-4, 6-3) to account for the Pioneers lone team point of the afternoon.
Daniel Fadden (Lakeland, NY/Bishop Ludden) fought hard but fell 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) in fifth singles, while UC's first doubles team of
Kenny Hadzic (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit Valley High School ) and
Albert Phalen (Bethlehem, CT/Nonnewaug) lost 8-4 to Eric Klinedinst and Steffan Waters. Gorman and MIke Zaloom also lost 8-4 in second doubles competition.
The Pioneers return to the hard court on Sunday when they travel to Alfred University to take on the Saxons in a conference contest at 1 p.m.
