Alfred, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team lost 9-0 to host Alfred University in Empire 8 Conference action Sunday afternoon. Freshman
Jon Gorman (South Kingstown, RI/South Kingstown) won the first set of his third singles match 7-5, but the Saxon's Nathan Kucko rallied to win the next two sets in the victory.
Mike Zaloom (Utica, NY/TR Proctor High School ) fought hard in fourth singles but fell 6-4, 6-1, while Kenan Hadzic lost his first singles match 6-2, 6-1 for UC.

Ryan Valle (Winthrop, ME/Winthrop High School) lost 8-3 to Nathan Garletts and Peter Benoit in third doubles competition, as
Albert Phalen (Bethlehem, CT/Nonnewaug) and
Mike Zaloom (Utica, NY/TR Proctor High School ) teamed up to drop their second doubles match 8-2.
The Pioneers return to action for a non conference contest on Wednesday when they host Union College at the UC Tennis Courts at 4 p.m.
