Stevens 9, Utica 0 - Results

Hoboken, N.J. – The Utica College men's tennis team lost to host Stevens Institute of Technology 9-0 in Empire 8 Conference action on Saturday.  Freshman Kenny Hadzic (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit Valley High School ) lost his first singles match (6-2, 6-2) against Chris Rosensteel, while Albert Phalen (Bethlehem, CT/Nonnewaug) lost in second singles (6-1, 6-0) to SIT's Andrew Riggs.

UC's Mike Zaloom (Utica, NY/TR Proctor High School ) lost 6-0, 6-1 in third singles to Shota Tasaki, while Daniel Fadden (Lakeland, NY/Bishop Ludden) lost in straight sets (6-0, 6-0) in fourth singles. Cody Plasterer (Sturbridge, MA/Winthrop High School ) lost in fifth singles 6-1, 6-0 and Ryan Valle (Winthrop, ME/Winthrop High School) also lost in sixth singles (6-0, 6-0) for Utica. 

The tandem of Fadden and Zaloom lost in second singles 8-1 to Stevens' Nicholas Rosasco and Andrew Riggs.

The Pioneers (0-7, 0-6 Empire 8) hope to earn their first win of the season on Saturday when they host Ithaca College in a conference contest at the Utica College Tennis Courts.  The Pioneers final match of the season is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
