Utica, NY – The Utica College men's tennis team is still in search of its first win of the season after a 9-0 loss to visiting St. John Fisher College Saturday afternoon in Empire 8 Conference play at the UC Tennis Courts. The Pioneers (0-3, 0-3 Empire 8) return to action on Saturday when they travel to Elmira College for an E8 contest at 1 p.m.

Albert Phalen (Bethlehem, CT/Nonnewaug) was the closest Pioneer to earning a team point as he lost to Greg Duffy (7-5, 6-0) in second singles.
Mike Zaloom (Utica, NY/TR Proctor High School ) lost 6-3, 6-3 to Joey Aquino in third singles, while
Cody Plasterer (Sturbridge, MA/Winthrop High School ) fell to Cody Schmitt 6-1, 6-1 in sixth singles.
The first doubles team of Kenan Hadzic and
Albert Phalen (Bethlehem, CT/Nonnewaug) lost 8-3 and
Sam Cotrupe (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro High School ) and
Daniel Fadden (Lakeland, NY/Bishop Ludden) dropped their second doubles match against John Whelehan and Dan Parshall, 8-2.
