Volleyball Falls at Oswego

Madison Bayer leads the team with 88 kills on the season
Box Score Oswego, NY (9/19/12)- The Utica College volleyball team dropped its fifth straight match, Wednesday as it lost to Oswego State, 3-1.  Sophomore Madison Bayer (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) led the Pioneers with eight kills, ten digs, and an assist.

Utica jumped out to a one-game lead as it topped the Lakers 26-24, but Oswego stormed back to win the next three games (16-25, 17-25, 19-25). 

Cassandra Manzer (Portcrane, NY/Chenango Valley) had eight kills and eights digs, while Briona Enny (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) had a game-high 28 digs to go along with one kill, one ace, and one assist. 

Oswego improves to 6-6 overall and opens up league play Friday as it faces Fredonia at 6 p.m.  Utica drops to 4-6 on the season and returns to action this as it begins league play at Empire 8 crossover tournament hosted by Alfred University.  The Pioneers take on Houghton College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
