Utica, NY (10/11/13)- The Utica College field hockey team gets back to conference play Saturday as it travels to Oneonta, NY for an Empire 8 match up against Hartwick College.  Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers downed RPI 2-0 in non-conference action Wednesday night… Juniors Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) and Alaina Stojkovski (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) each scored for UC, while sophomore Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) made seven saves for her fourth shutout of the season. 

ROAD WARRIORS: Saturday's contest will be the third of a five-game road trip for the Pioneers… UC is 6-2 on the road this year and has outscored opponents 32-10 in those games. 

STEELE-NORTON TOPS THEM ALL: With two points against RPI, Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) became the most prolific scorer in UC history… She currently has 112 career points, surpassing the previous record of 110, held by Shannon Rohacek '06… Earlier this season, Steele-Norton also captured the College's career goal scoring record, held by Rohacek… She now has 53 goals and six assists in 49 career games at Utica… On the season, she leads the team and is tied for first in the conference with 11 goals… She is also second in the E8 with 25 points.

STOJKOVSKI STEADY IN THE MIDFIELD: Junior Alaina Stojkovski (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) has been a strength in the midfield her entire career for the Pioneers… She has started all 52 games since her freshman year and ranks second on the College's all-time assist list (23)… This season, she is third on the team in scoring with 14 points (five goals, four assists)… Utica is 7-0 when Stojkovski records at least one point. 

MACKEY LOOKS TO JOIN THE CLUB: Junior Hannah Mackey (Locke, NY/Moravia Central) is on the verge of becoming just the third player in program history to record 100 points in a career… She is currently tied for third on the College's all-time points list with 98…  She is also third in career assists (20)… On the season, she is tied for second in the conference with 25 points (10 goals, five assists). 

SHUTTING THE DOOR: The Pioneer defense has been rock solid this season… UC ranks first in the conference, allowing just 1.17 goals against per game… Freshman Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) leads the Empire 8 with a .846 save percentage and a 1.46 goals against average… She also has four shutouts on the year. 

SCOUTING HARTWICK: The Hawks are 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the Empire 8 Conference… They are coming off a 4-2 win over Union on Tuesday… They are led by Jessica Ott and Kelly Kramer… Ott has 13 points (three goals, seven assists), while Kramer has 11 points (four goals, three assists). 

AGAINST THE HAWKS: UC is 5-5 against Hartwick dating back to 2003… Last year UC topped the Harkws 3-1… Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School), Hannah Mackey (Locke, NY/Moravia Central), and Alaina Stojkovski (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) each had one goal, while Mackey and Stojkovski each added an assist. 

LOOKING AHEAD: Utica will continue its road trip next Saturday as it travels to Empire 8 foe, Elmira College… Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
