Utica, NY (10/14/13)- The Utica College men's soccer team wraps up its three-game home stand Tuesday as it faces Wells College in non-conference action.  Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: UC is coming off a 3-0 loss to nationally ranked No. 11 Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday… The loss knocked the Pioneers out of first place in the Empire 8 Conference… Utica goalie Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) stopped eight shots in the loss, while Greg Silvestro (West Sayville, NY/Connetquot) added a team-best two shots for the Pioneers.

LEADING THE WAY: Junior Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) leads the team with 12 points (five goals, two assists)… Senior captain Kevin McAllister (Boxford, MA/Masconomet Regional) has been consistently producing for UC with 11 points (four goals, three assists)… Defender Greg Silvestro (West Sayville, NY/Connetquot) has given the Pioneers a spark from the back end with ten points (four goals, two assists)… Jeffrey Cupka (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional) has recorded eight points (two goals, four assists) on the year… Jonathan Peterson has also chipped in with two goals and three assists for UC… Goalkeeper Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) has a save percentage of .766 and a goals against average of 1.07.

SHOOTING GALLERY: UC has outscored opponents 15-5 in the last five games… Seven of the Pioneers' 13 games have been one-goal games.

SCOUTING WELLS: The Express is 7-3-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the NEAC…  They are coming off a 2-0 loss to SUNYIT on Saturday… Three different players have scored four goals for Wells this season including Hunter Sowersby, Max Cherry, and Alexander Essandoh… Goalie CJ Bayly has a .847 save percentage and 1.16 goals against average.

ALL-TIME SERIES: The Pioneers have never lost to Wells, with a 6-0 record against the Express… Last season, UC broke a scoreless tie at halftime and went on to win by the score of 2-1... UC's largest margin of victory came in 2006 when it won, 8-0, over the Express.
