Box Score ITHACA, NY (October 19, 2013) – The Utica College men's soccer team allowed two goals in each half on its way to a 4-1 loss at Empire 8 Conference foe Ithaca College on Saturday afternoon. UC's
Greg Silvestro (West Sayville, NY/Connetquot) cut the Pioneers' 2-0 deficit to just one goal when he netted sixth goal (tied for the team-lead) early in the second half, but the Bombers were able to seal the key conference victory with two more goals in the 78th and 89th minutes.
UC dropped to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in conference play, while the Bombers improved to 3-8 overall and 2-1 in the E8.
Ithaca came out of the gates hot on its home grass early in the contest, netting two goals from Sean Forward and Blair Carney in the first 7:30 of the game to take a 2-0 lead.
Silvestro made it 2-1 in the 55th minute, but that was all of the offense the Pioneers' would get as Sean Forward added two more late goals to secure the hat-trick. Forward now has seven goals for Ithaca this season.

Anthony Caruso (Easton, CT/Joel Barlow) made three saves in the loss, while Jordan Gentile stopped six shots in between the pipes for the Bombers.
Ithaca out shot Utica 16-13 and each team had four corner kicks on the afternoon.
The Pioneers return to the pitch for game two of a three-game road trip on Tuesday afternoon when they travel across town to take on Hamilton College in their final non-conference matchup of the season. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
