Troy, NY (10/9/13)- The Utica College field hockey team got back to its winning ways Wednesday as it downed RPI 2-0,  in non-conference action.  Junior Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) scored one goal to become the most prolific scorer in UC history.

The Pioneers got on the board in the 12th minute as Steele-Norton scored her team-best 11th goal of the season off a penalty corner.  With the tally, she now has 112 career points, surpassing the previous record of 110, held by Shannon Rohacek '06.

Junior Alaina Stojkovski (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) added to the Utica lead at 53:31 as she caged her fifth goal of the season, unassisted.  That was all the Pioneers needed as sophomore Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) stopped all seven shots she faced for her fourth shutout of the season.

Hannah Clough made nine saves for RPI in the loss.  Utica improves to 9-3 on the season, while the Engineers fall to 3-8.  Utica returns to action Saturday as it travels to Oneonta, NY for an Empire 8 match up against Hartwick College.  Game time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
