Rochester, NY (4/13/2013) – The Utica College men's tennis team lost 8-1 to Empire 8 Conference opponent and host Nazareth College Saturday afternoon. Utica's
Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) defeated Nazareth's Brian Rosiek in sixth singles (6-4, 6-2) to account for the Pioneers lone team point of the afternoon.
Rogers joined forces with Sam Catrupe in third doubles but lost to the tandem of Matt Jennings and Rosiek, 8-2. Utica freshman
Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville ) lost in third singles (6-2, 6-2) against Erik Manske.
The Golden Flyers improved their overall record to 4-8 and they remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0.
The Pioneers (3-2, 0-2 Empire 8) return to the hard court on Wednesday when they travel to conference opponent Ithaca College to take on the Bombers at 4 p.m.
