Ithaca, NY (4/17/2013) – The Utica College men's tennis team lost to Empire 8 Conference foe Ithaca College 9-0 in men's tennis on Wednesday afternoon. The Pioneers fell to 3-3 overall on the year and 0-3 in conference play. UC's
Jon Gorman (South Kingstown, RI/South Kingstown) and
Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville ) lost in first doubles 8-2 to IC's David Andersen and Chris Hayes.
UC's
Sam Cotrupe (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro High School ) lost in third singles (6-2, 6-0) to Ithaca's Chris Hayes, while
Ryan Valle (Winthrop, ME/Winthrop High School) dropped his fifth singles match up 6-1, 6-1.
The Pioneers return to action on Saturday when they host an Empire 8 Conference double header at the UC Tennis Courts. The Pioneers welcome Alfred University on Saturday at 11 a.m. before turning right abck around to take on Stevens Institute of Technology in E8 action at 4 p.m. Utica is currently 3-1 at home this season.
