Utica, NY (5/13/13)- Senior Mallory Ingalls (Oriskany, NY/Oriskany) of the Utica College softball team was named to the 2013 NCAA Ithaca Regional All-Tournament team, released Monday.

Ingalls, a catcher, was one of only 12 players representing six teams to earn the honor.  Over the course of three games in the tournament, Ingalls was 6-for-12 at the dish with four RBI, including a two-run home run in Utica's extra-inning loss to Washington College in the opening game.  Five of her six hits were extra base hits.  Behind the plate, she had nine put outs, four assists and picked off three runners.

On the year she compiled a .342 batting average and a career-best eight home runs.  She finished second on the team and third in the conference with 40 RBI, was third on the squad in total bases (83), and fourth in slugging percentage (.546).  She wraps up her career ranked second all-time in runs scored (98), hits (149), and home runs (16), and third in batting average (.365), slugging percentage (.547), RBI (95), and total bases (223).  She also holds the top three single-season records for pick offs.

The Pioneers wrapped up their best season in program history with a 34-14 overall record.  UC captured an Empire 8 regular season title, hosting rights for the conference championship, and an NCAA tournament appearance, all for the first time in program history.
