Box Score Rochester, NY (9/21/14)- The Utica College field hockey team won its third straight and picked up a conference victory in the first Empire 8 game of the season, Saturday, as it downed St. John Fisher College 4-0.  Junior Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School) broke the College's career goal scoring record with two goals on the day.  She now has 48 career goals, beating Shannon Rohacek's previous record of 46.  She also became just the second player in UC history to record 100 career points.

Steele-Norton netted her first of the game just 6:39 into the contest.  Junior Hannah Mackey (Locke, NY/Moravia Central) caged her conference-leading seventh goal of the season at 18:52, off an assist from freshman Emily Gascon (Chenango Forks, NY/Greene).  The Pioneers went on to score two goals in the final two minutes of play to seal the victory.  Junior Alaina Stojkovski (Liverpool, NY/Cicero-North Syracuse) tallied her fourth of the season off a penalty stroke at 68:09, and Steele-Norton added her sixth goal of the season with ten second remaining in the game.

Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) made four saves in net for Utica for her second shutout of the season, while Danielle Famolaro and Alexis Zakala combined for two saves for the Cardinals.

Fisher will look to bounce back Wednesday against Wells College.  The Pioneers also return to action Wednesday as they travel to Saratoga Springs, NY for a non-conference match up against Skidmore College.  Game time is set for 4 p.m.
