Utica, NY (9/6/13)- The Utica College volleyball team hits the road this weekend as it travels to Aurora, NY for the Wells College Invitational. UC will take on Wells College at 10 a.m. on Saturday before facing SUNYIT at 12 p.m.

Madison Bayer (Islip Terrace, NY/East Islip) had six kills and added 10 digs, while classmate
Briona Enny (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) led the squad with 11 digs and contributed one service ace... Sophomore
Lora Allen (Dolgeville, NY/Dolgeville) had a team-best 17 assists, while fresman
Carly Lonczak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) chipped in with four of her own... Freshman
Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) owned the net, tallying a game-high eight kills.
Scouting Wells: The Express are 1-2 and coming off a split at the SUNY Canton Invitational last weekend… They topped Johnson State 3-0 before falling to SUNY Canton 3-1… Wells is led by Meredith Kadjeski who has a team-best 33 kills and 13 service aces… This will be the first-ever meeting between the two teams… UC will meet Wells twice more this season.
Scouting SUNYIT: The Wildcats are 2-1 overall after an impressive showing at the SUNY Canton Tournament last weekend… Senior Kaitlyn Harrington has a team-best 27 kills to go along with 26 digs, while sophomore Erika Reakes leads the team with 34 digs… UC and SUNYIT split last season's series with each team winning one match.
Looking Ahead: The Pioneers travel to SUNY Cobleskill on Monday for a non-conference match up… Game time is set for 7 p.m.
