Kelcei Edmonds (Pittsburgh, PA/Shady Side Academy) who scored 12 … Utica's top rebounders were Traglia and
Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) who had eight boards a piece followed by
Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) with seven … The Pioneers shot 35.7% beyond the arc, compared to RPI's mark of 31.3% … UC forced 22 turnovers that led to 17 points … Utica also had 15 points come from their bench while RPI had 12.
HISTORY UPDATE:
Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) now has 655 career points and needs 82 more to move into the top-15 ... Miceli has also racked up 88 career 3-pointers made, ranking her seventh in program history … She needs four more to surpass Laura Keating for sixth all-time and she needs just 12 more to become one of only six players in program history to have at least 100 career 3-pointers …
Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) has racked up 29 rebounds this season and now has a career total of 605 boards … Greenwald needs 58 more rebounds to move into sixth all time.
LIGHTS OUT: From the field,
Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) has knocked down 14 of her 34 shots for a .412% shooting percentage … Stayer has 33 points on the season to go along with four steals, two assists, and one block … She is averaging 11 points per game ranking her third on the team.
BALL HAWK:
Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills)'s team leading 29 rebounds, ranks her second in the Empire 8 Conference … Greenwald has already registered a double-double in the season opener against Potsdam … She is averaging 9.7 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game … Greenwald also has seven steals, six assists, and one block on the season.
THROWING IT DOWN: Senior guard,
Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk), is averaging 11.3 points per game placing her second on the team … Traglia racked up a team-high 16 points against RPI, and added nine against both Oneonta and Potsdam … She is shooting .345% from the field and .333% from behind the arc … Traglia has also picked up five steals and three assists on the season.
SCOUTING SUNY IT: The Wildcats beat Canton 78-64, in their season opener … The Wildcats had nearly three players score 20 points against Canton; Lauren Knowles led the team with 21 points while Geena Gallo and Molly Maclachlan each had 19 points … Knowles and Gallo both pulled down nine boards … Last season, SUNY IT went 18-7 overall and 9-1 on the road.
LAST TIME AGAINST THE WILDCATS: Last season, Utica took down SUNYIT 71-56 by scoring 51 points in the first half… SUNYIT's only lead of the game came when the Wildcats netted a layup off the opening tip…
