Women's Hoops Hosts Hamilton Monday Evening

Utica, NY (12/1/14)- The Utica College women's basketball team returns to action Monday following an eight-day respite.  The Pioneers will host local-rival Hamilton College at 6 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT: Utica defeated SUNY Poly, 68-38, and Keystone College, 71-65, on Nov. 22 and 23… Senior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) collected a double-double in each game… Against SUNY Poly, she had 10 points and 16 rebounds, before scoring a season-high 19 points and adding 13 boards against Keystone… Senior Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) had 22 points and ten rebounds on the weekend, while classmate Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) totaled 20 points and grabbed nine balls off the glass.
 
IN THE RECORD BOOKS: Junior Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) has totaled 665 career points… She has also racked up 90 career 3-pointers made, ranking her seventh in program history … She needs just two more to surpass Laura Keating for sixth all-time and she needs 10 more to become one of only six players in program history to have at least 100 career 3-pointers… Senior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) is currently seventh all-time at UC with 634 career rebounds… She needs just 29 boards to overtake Meghan Fiore for sixth on the list. 
 
DOUBLING UP: Senior Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) is averaging 11.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per game… She has collected a double-double in four of five games played this season… She also leads the Empire 8 Conference with 58 total boards. 
 
LIGHTS OUT: From the field, Samantha Stayer (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone) has knocked down 23 of her 51 shots for a .451 shooting percentage … Stayer has 55 points on the season to go along with seven steals, three assists, and two blocks … She is averaging 11 points per game ranking her second on the team.
 
HELPING OUT: Senior Christy Traglia (Mohawk, NY/Mohawk) ranks third on the team with 10.8 points per game… She has also added 3.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists through five games… She is shooting .372 from the field and is 18-for-26 from the free throw line.
 
DOMINANT FROM THE LINE: Junior Mary Miceli (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) leads the team with a .720 free throw percentage… She is averaging 10.2 points per game and has collected 22 rebounds on the season.
 
SCOUTING HAMILTON: The Continentals are 3-3 on the season… They are led by Sam Graber, who is averaging an impressive 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds… Last year, the Pioneers fell 60-44 to Hamilton in Clinton… Bridget Greenwald (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) knocked down 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead UC.
 
LOOKING AHEAD: The Pioneers remain home on Wednesday as they host Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts for their annual Faculty Appreciation Game… Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
