Box Score Potsdam, NY (2/22//14)- The Utica College women's hockey team tied ECAC West rival, SUNY Potsdam, 4-4, Saturday afternoon at Potsdam's Maxcy Ice Arena.  The Pioneers remain just one point behind the Bears in the conference standings heading into the final match up of the regular season against Potsdam on Sunday.

Four different players scored for UC, including freshmen Emily Coope (Phoenix, AZ/Colorado Tigers) and Victoria Pelton (Sterling Heights, MI/Belle Tire) as well as senior Megan Myers (Las Vegas, NV/LA Selects) and junior Louise Steele-Norton (Avondale, PA/Millbrook School).  Coope got the Pioneers on the board just 2:20 into the game with her fourth of the year, assisted by Myers and Steele-Norton.

Steele-Norton and Pelton gave Utica a 3-2 lead after the second period with their second and fourth goals, respectively.  Myers added her team-leading 17th goal of the season in the third period to cap off the scoring for Utica.  Potsdam used three goals from freshman Jordan Ott to force overtime.  Neither team was able to score in the extra frame, keeping the Bears in fourth place in the conference.

Jennifer Hamel (Ithaca, NY/Northwood School) made 28 stops for Utica, while her counterpart, Alexane Rodigue had 41 saves in net for Potsdam.  Both teams return to Utica to wrap up the series Sunday afternoon.  The winner will earn the fourth seed in the ECAC West Conference tournament and will host a first round playoff game.  The loser will finish fifth in the conference and will have to travel to the fourth seed for the tournament opener.
