Utica, NY (February 26, 2014) - The Utica College women's hockey team takes on SUNY Potsdam in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Women's West Hockey Tournament on Sunday at 12 p.m.

Gabrielle Schnepp (Northville, MI/Belle Tire) recorded her first hat trick as the Pioneers dominated offensively outshooting the Bears 47-32.
PLAYOFF PAST: This marks the 12th post-season appearance in the program's 13-year history… The Pioneers are 5-7 in playoff games since 2005-06… Last season, they defeated the Potsdam Bears at home 5-1 before losing in the semifinals to eventual national champion, Elmira College 5-0… The Pioneers are looking to use past postseason experience to fuel a run to the championship … In the ECAC West Tournament game against Potsdam last year,

MYERS SECOND ALL-TIME: Senior
Megan Myers (Las Vegas, NV/LA Selects) is currently in second on the College's all-time points list with 139 points (73 goals, 66 assists) in 102 games played… This season, she leads the team in goals (18), assists (17), and points (35)… Her 1.40 points per game rank eighth nationally and third in the conference.
RELYING ON HAMEL: Senior
Jennifer Hamel (Ithaca, NY/Northwood School)'s 34 wins rank second all-time, just one behind 2010 graduate, Jill Doherty… Hamel has a .904 save percentage, a 2.53 goals against average, and is 12-8-1 on the season.
SCOUTING POTSDAM: The Bears are 12-9-4 overall with a 7-5-4 mark in the ECAC West… Potsdam is led by Jordan Ott and Jessica Silveira… Ott has a team-high 36 points (22 goals, 14 assists), while Silveira is second with 35 points.
AGAINST THE BEARS: UC is 6-1-4 against Potsdam since 2009… Last weekend, UC clinched a home game in the first round of the playoffs by tying the Bears on Saturday and then beating them on Sunday… Last season, Utica went 1-0-1 during the regular season and then went on to beat Potsdam in the first round of the conference tournament.
LOOKING AHEAD: Sunday's winner will travel to the ECAC West final four, hosted by top-seeded Plattsburgh State… Plattsburgh will take on the lowest remaining seed next Saturday, with Elmira facing the highest remaining seed… The winners of the semifinal will meet on Sunday, March 9 at 3 p.m. with the winner earning an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
