Utica, NY (4/3/14) - The Utica College women's lacrosse team will continue Empire 8 Conference play at home this weekend against St. John Fisher College on Saturday and Elmira College on Sunday. The opening draw control for both games will be at 1 p.m.

Super Fan Game: In honor of Division III week, the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is hosting a "Super Fan Game" throughout Saturday's contest against No. 17 St. John Fisher College.

Hot Sticks: In the conference, Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) is second in goals per game (3.29), fourth in points per game (3.86) and fifth in shots per game (6.86)… Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) is sixth in shots per game (6.57) and draw controls per game (3.00) … Morgan DuPont (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) ranks second in assists per game (3.00) and ninth in points per game (3.43) … Erin Jacobson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) is third in both goals against average (8.57) and save percentage (.492) and fifth in saves per game (8.29).

Assists Record: Coming into the season Morgan DuPont (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) was eighth all time at UC in assists (30)… With her 21 assists thus far, DuPont is now second all-time… She needs just six more assists to tie Tammy Kohanski '11 for first all-time … DuPont also needs one more assist to break her own school record for most assists in a single season.    

Scouting The Cardinals: St. John Fisher (7-2, 2-1 E8) is coming to Utica after winning a pair of games against Alfred University and Nazareth College by a combined score of 34-6 … Taylor Hughes leads the way for the Cardinals with 31 points (20 goals, 11 assists) … Four other players have at least 20 points this season: Sierra Badger (23), Samantha Barton (22), Erin Ward (21) and Jordan Johnson (21) … Hughes leads the Conference in shots per game (7.11) and is eighth in the Conference with 3.44 points per game …Moorea Spoljaric is third in shots per game (6.90) … Johnson is fifth in assists per game (1.56) … Goalie Caroline Trpcevski leads the Conference in goals against average.

Scouting the Soaring Eagles: Elmira (4-5, 1-2 E8) is coming off a 12-5 loss to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday … The Soaring Eagles have lost four of their last six games … Elmira is led by the duo of Ashton Hogan and Moorea Spoljaric … Hogan leads the Empire 8 in goals per game (3.57), is fifth in points per game (3.71) and is seventh in shots per game (6.43) … Spoljaric is 10th in goals per game (2.40) and third in shots per game (6.90) … Rebecca Matturro is fourth in the Conference with 2.30 caused turnovers per game and Erin Duffy is fifth (2.00) … Goalie LeAnna Presler has a 11.19 goals against average.
