Men's Tennis Set for Three-Match Home Stand

| By:
Utica, NY (4-21-14) – The Utica College men's tennis team wraps up their 2014 campaign this week with three straight matches at the friendly confines of the Utica College Tennis Courts.

Week Itinerary: UC welcomes Empire 8 rival Hartwick College on Tuesday (4 p.m.) followed by Keuka College on Thursday (3:30 p.m.) and concludes with conference foe St. John Fisher on Sunday (1 p.m.).

Pioneers Look for No. 3:  Utica is currently 2-8 overall and still in hunt for its first win in Empire 8 play … The Pioneers two wins came by scores of 5-4 against Cazenovia, in the fall, and the Sage Colleges back on April 13th … UC is 0-5 in league action and has only recorded one point in those five matches.

Eye on the Hawks: Hartwick is currently 1-10 overall including a 0-5 mark in the E8 … After eight straight losses to open up the season, the Hawks posted their first win last Wednesday with a 9-0 home win over the Sage Colleges … HC was shut out by Stevens over the weekend.

Weather the Storm: Keuka is winless on the year at 0-7 as well as 0-4 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) … The Storm have only recorded two points all season and will play Oswego State on Wednesday before facing the Pioneers.

Cardinals Scouting Report: St. John Fisher presently holds a 6-8 overall mark along with a 2-2 ledger in league play … The Cardinals dropped six straight to start the season but turned it around winning six of their last eight … Fisher is coming off back-to-back victories over Houghton and Elmira and will play Alfred and Hartwick this week.
