Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) led the Pioneers with the lone victory of the day.
Rogers won 6-0 and 7-5 in the number three spot and teamed up with
Ryan Valle (Winthrop, ME/Winthrop High School) in doubles competition recording four points, however was not enough as UC lost its sixth straight in conference play.
UC falls to 2-9 overall and remains winless at 0-6 in the Empire 8. The Pioneers remain home as they welcome St. John Fisher for their conference finale on Saturday. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. at the UC Tennis Courts.
Hartwick grabbed its first league victory of the year and is now 1-5 in the E8. The Hawks moved their overall mark to 2-10 on the season.
