Box Score Utica, NY (9/10/14)- The Utica College volleyball team picked up its first win against cross-town rival, SUNYIT in over two years as it downed the Wildcats 3-0 Wednesday evening at the Harold T. Clark Athletic Center.  The Pioneers won 26-24, 27-25, 25-23.
 
The Pioneers came from behind in every set to earn the victory.  In game one, UC faced a 24-22 deficit before rallying to win 26-24.  In game two, Utica was down 23-22 and won 27-25.  In the third and final game, the Pioneers were down 20-17, but came back to take the set 25-23.
 
Sophomore Brandi Blaszak (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) had a game-high 14 kills and added five digs.  Freshman Alaina Wickwire (Towanda, PA/Towanda) tallied ten kills and ten digs, while Briona Enny (Queensbury, NY/Queensbury) had a team-best 11 digs and Lora Allen (Dolgeville, NY/Dolgeville) collected 27 assists. Chelsea Lauria (Erieville, NY/Cazenovia) and Alexis Lyon (Prospect, NY/Holland Patent) each chipped in with ten digs apiece. 
 
Utica improves to 3-4 on the year.  The Pioneers return to action Saturday as they travel to SUNY Canton for a tri-match.  UC will face the host Kangaroos at 11 a.m. followed by a match against Johnson State at 1 p.m.
