Utica, NY (September 24, 2014) – The Utica College men's tennis team is set to open up its 2014-2015 campaign this Saturday as it welcomes cross-town rival Hamilton College to the Utica College Tennis Courts. The match is set for 9 a.m.
Last Year's CampaignThe Pioneers went 3-10 overall last season including an 0-7 mark in the competitive Empire 8 Conference. Utica beat Cazenovia College in the season-opener, The Sage Colleges in mid-season and Keuka College in the regular season finale. UC compiled a 2-5 record on the road and a 1-5 ledger on its home court.
Matt Rogers (East Syracuse, NY/Bishop Ludden) led the Pioneer squad with five wins in singles competition followed
Daniel Fadden (Lakeland, NY/Bishop Ludden) who recorded three victories in singles and
Raphael Warnon (Rock Tavern, NY/Washingtonville ) who had two.
Getting to Know the ContinentalsHamilton is presently 1-0 this season after shutting out SUNY Oneonta, 9-0, on Sept. 13
th. The Continentals won nine matches for the second season in a row in 2013-14 led by Ian Antonoff who posted a 13-10 singles record land Jon Cohen who went 12-10 in singles play as a freshman. Austin Lokre and Max McKee-Proctor tied a team record with 14 doubles wins in a season. HC currently has three more matches scheduled following this match versus UC.

st when it heads to Oswego State for a heads-up match against the Lakers. This match marks the final contest of 2014. Volley is set for 3:30 p.m. at the Oswego Tennis Courts. The Pioneers open up Spring 2015 on March 28
th with back-to-back Empire 8 battles against Nazareth and St John Fisher (3/29/14 at the UC Courts.
