Utica, NY (9/29/14) – The Utica College women's soccer team travels to nearby Clinton, NY Wednesday afternoon to take on local rival Hamilton College. The contest is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
 
THE PIONEERS: Utica is looking to snap its first back-to-back losses of the season … The Pioneers lost to both Stevens Institute of Technology and Hartwick 3-1 and are now 2-2 on the road … On the road UC has put up 30 shots and five goals. 
 
ON FIRE: Senior forward Alana Fitzpatrick (Cheshire, CT/Holy Cross) has been on fire as of late… She has scored in three consecutive matches bringing her total to four goals on the season … She is tied for eighth in the Empire 8 Conference in goals scored and is averaging 1.13 points per game … Fitzpatrick needs just one more goal to pass her output from last season.   
 
KEY FACTOR: Freshman midfielder Keri Berkowitz (Racine, WI/Racine Saint Catherine's) continues to lead the Pioneers in shots (21) and assists (four) … She has four shots on three different occasions and has found the back of the net once … The Pioneers are 4-0 when Berkowitz scores at least one point. 
 
BRICK WALL: Junior goalkeeper Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) is fourth in the Empire 8 with 52 saves and is averaging 6.5 saves per game … Heimerle has started all eight games this year and has played 756:09 minutes on the season … She has two games with ten or more saves; against Keuka (8/31/14) and Stevens (9/20/14) and has faced a total of 141 shots.
 
SCOUTING THE CONTINENTALS: Hamilton is 6-2 overall and 2-1 at home … The Continentals have outshot opponents 57-19 and outscored opponents 10-3 on their home turf … The Continentals have 16 different players with at least one point and 11 different players that have scored a goal.
 
AGAINST HAMILTON: Utica is 1-4 against Hamilton in the last five years… Last year, Hamilton defeated UC 4-0 in Clinton…   The last time Utica defeated the Continentals was a 1-0 victory in 2009. 
 
LOOKING AHEAD: The Pioneers return home Saturday as they host Empire 8 foe, St. John Fisher College… Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
