Rochester, NY (1/31/15)- The Utica College men's basketball team fell to Empire 8 frontrunner St. John Fisher, 100-65, in conference action Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers fall to 8-13 on the year and 4-8 in the Empire 8, while Fisher improves to 17-2 and remains unbeaten in league play with a 10-0 record.
Utica had four players score double digits, including
Robert Tutein (Nanuet, NY/Nanuet),
Aaron Nevins (Buffalo, NY/Canisius),
Conor Maisch (Kingston, NY/John A. Coleman), and
Jawan Simmons (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham). Tutein led the Pioneers with 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Nevins netted 10 points, and added a team-high five assists, while Simmons led UC reserves with ten points and three rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench.
Griffin Kelly (Watervliet, NY/Watervliet),
Agim Hamiti (Prishtina, Kosovo/Syracuse Academy of Science),
Dillan Veeder (Canajoharie, NY/Canajoharie), and
Ian Henderson (Chateaugay, NY/Chateaugay) combined for 15 points.
Fisher had five players score at least ten points, led by Keegan Ryan's 22-point, 10-rebound performance as the Cardinals pushed their win streak to 15 games.
