Hoboken, NJ- Stevens Institute of Technology jumped over Utica College in the Empire 8 Conference standings as it topped UC 2-1 in E8 field hockey action on Saturday.
The Pioneers (5-9, 3-3 Empire 8) are currently fourth in the conference standings with two E8 games remaining. UC will return to action Wednesday as it hosts Keuka College. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.

Jessica Belt (Webster, NY/Webster-Schroeder) netted her second goal of the season at 18:47, off an assist from senior
Colleen Dowling (Fairport, NY/Fairport) to bring the Pioneers within one. Despite a number of chances by each team, neither was able to find the back of the net again as Stevens went on to win its ninth game of the year and improve to 4-3 in the Empire 8.
