Last Time Out: The Pioneers defeated Keuka College 8-0 in nonconference action on Wednesday afternoon … UC built an early lead off of Colleen Dowling (Fairport, NY/Fairport)'s goal within the first two minutes of play … Utica would strike four more times in the half with two goals from Meghan McCormick (Ava, NY/RFA) and Rachael Scaramuzzino (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) … The Pioneers would add three more goals in the second half with two goals from Jessica Belt (Webster, NY/Webster-Schroeder) and on from Madison Williams (Prospect, NY/Holland Patent).
 
Senior Day: Saturday's game against Ithaca College is the field hockey teams senior recognition day … The Pioneers have six seniors on the team: Dowling, Tori Couture (Auburn, ME/Edward Little ), Jessica Smith (Vernon, NY/Vernon Verona Sherrill), Taylor Lukins (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport Central), Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy), and Caitlyn Strapach (Union Springs, NY/Union Springs).
 
Breast Cancer Awareness Game:  Saturday is UC's Breast Cancer Awareness Game … Before the game the Student Athlete Advisory Committee will be holding a Breast Cancer Walk outside Clark Athletic Center on the Utica College Campus … Registration for the walk will be from 10-10:30 a.m. outside of the Clark Athletic Center … The walk will be free of charge and will consist of a quick loop around the campus … There will be pink ribbons available for purchase for $1.
 
Veterans Leading The Way: Senior Dowling and junior McCormick are tied for first on the team with 14 points … Dowling has three goals and eight assists while McCormick has six goals and two assists … Junior Rachael Scaramuzzino (Utica, NY/Whitesboro) has six points off of two goals and two assists … Couture and sophomore Maria Orsino (Sauquoit, NY/Sauquoit) each have four points off of one goal and two assists.
 
Freshman Contributors: Rylee Meelan (Clinton, NY/Clinton) and Jessica Belt (Webster, NY/Webster-Schroeder) are third and fourth on the team with 13 and nine points respectively … Meelan has six goals and one assist on the year while Belt has four goals and one assist … Brittany Evans (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) has four points off of one goal and two assists, while Tiffany Evans (East Syracuse, NY/East Syracuse Minoa) and Rebecca Kauffman (Mount Joy, PA/Linden Hall) each have four points off of two goals … Freshman have accounted for 34 of the 86 points scored this year.
 
In The Net: Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) has started 13 games for UC and is ranked fourth in the conference in saves (101) and has a save percentage of .759 … Samantha Whitehouse (Greenwich, NY/Greenwich) has appeared in six games and has started one for the Pioneers … Whitehouse has one shutout, 21 saves, and a .840 save percentage … Caitlyn Strapach (Union Springs, NY/Union Springs) has started one game, has one shutout, and has two saves.
 
Scouting Ithaca: The Bombers are 10-3 overall with a 6-1 Empire 8 record … Ithaca has won its last four games including three games against Empire 8 opponents … The Bombers are led by Colleen Keegan-Twombly (24 points off of 11 goals and two assists), Michaela Donohue (16 points off of six goals and four assists), and Katie Lass (13 games started, 63 saves, .887 save percentage, six shutouts, and only eight goals against).
