Shane Ruffing (Rochester, NY/Westborough) became the College's all-time leading scorer as the Utica College men's soccer team fell to Empire 8 frontrunner and nationally ranked No. 16 Stevens Institute of Technology, 3-1, Friday evening.

The Pioneers fall to 5-12 (1-5 Empire 8) on the season. They will wrap up their 2015 campaign next Saturday as they travel to Houghton College. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.

Down 3-0 in the second half, freshman
Julian Fonseca (Rocky Hill, CT/Bridgton) placed a perfect ball to Ruffing who was streaking through the box. Ruffing took one touch and placed a high shot inside the near post for his team-leading tenth goal of the season. The goal vaulted Ruffing ahead of Evan Dufault '07 for first on the all-time list with 76 career points. The 6-6 forward has now scored five goals in six Empire 8 Conference games this season.

Sophomore
Matthew Milograno (Marcy, NY/Whitesboro) totaled eight saves in the loss, while Mike Renna stopped five shots in net for Stevens. Â
