ROCHESTER, NY- Host St. John Fisher College avenged a 3-0 loss to the Utica College field hockey team in last year's Empire 8 Conference Championship game as it downed UC 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in E8 action. 
 
The Pioneers (3-8, 2-2 Empire 8) are now 4-1 all-time against Fisher.  They return to action Wednesday as they host Brockport.  Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. 
 
The Cardinals opened up the scoring less than five minutes into play as Lauren Fazio netted her sixth goal of the season.  Neither team scored over the next 30 minutes as Fisher took a 1-0 lead into halftime.  The Cardinals added insurance tallies, both off the stick of Elizabeth Cusack, to secure their seventh victory of the season and improve to 4-0 in the conference.
 
Senior Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) made six saves in net, while her counterpart, Danielle Famolaro, had one stop in the win.
