UC Women's Soccer Closes Out Season with Loss at #24 Ithaca

Utica, NY – The Utica College women's soccer team closed out its 2015 campaign with a 4-0 loss at the hands of nationally-ranked No. 24 Ithaca College in Empire 8 Conference action on Saturday.

The Pioneers say goodbye to seniors Morgan Donovan (Farmingdale, NY/Half Hollow Hills East ), Cassandra McNitt (Ballston Lake, NY/Shenendehowa), Krystine Alvear (Ossining, NY/Ossining), Maddison Vitale (Ilion, NY/Ilion), Morgan Donovan (Farmingdale, NY/Half Hollow Hills East ), Maddisen Melley (Wappingers Falls, NY/Roy C. Ketcham) and Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) who were competing in their final game in the blue and orange.

On Saturday, the Bombers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half after goals from Taylor Baranowsky and Sarah Pirnie.  They extended their lead in the second half with two goals from Megan Nash and Kelsey King.

Kelly Heimerle (North Babylon, NY/North Babylon) and Kimberly Beattie (Levitton, NY/Division Ave) split time in goal for the Pioneers and combined for eight saves.  Ithaca's Beth Coppolecchia added two saves for the Bombers.
Ithaca outshot the Pioneers 13-2 on the afternoon.

The Pioneers wrapped up their 2015 campaign with a 3-13-2 overall record and a 1-7 mark in the conference. Ithaca will head to the Empire 8 Conference Tournament with a record of 12-3-2 overall and 6-0-2 in the E8.
