Utica, NY (3/19/15)- The Utica College women's lacrosse team will be vying for its first road win of the season, Saturday, as it travels to Millersville, Pa. to take on Albright College at Millersville University. Game time is set for 4 p.m.  

LAST TIME OUT: The Pioneers are coming off of a 10-6 win at home against SUNY Potsdam this past Saturday... Utica scored six unanswered goals while holding the Bears scoreless in the second half… Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville), Tewasherake Barnes (Akwesasne, NY/Salmon River), Courtney Wheeler (Ava, NY/Rome Free Academy) and Rebecca Plunkett (Kings Park, NY/Kings Park) each scored two goals... Kane led all Pioneers with three points on the day. Brooke Miller (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) and Morgan DuPont (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) each scored one goal, and Miller and Patricia Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) each had one assist… Kells Casey (Sandwich, MA/Kimball Union Academy) and Erin Jacobson (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) combined for eight saves in goal, as Casey was awarded the win.

LEADING THE WAY: Senior Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) leads the team in points with 15 on the year (12 goals, three assists)… She is tied for sixth all-time at UC with 135 career points with Casey Pelletier (2005-08)... Kane is also currently ranked fifth all-time in career goals (113) and she has scored at least three points in her four games this year, with a season-high six against Clarkson.

NOT TO BE OUTDONE: Senior Morgan DuPont (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) is also in line to rewrite the Pioneer record book... She needs three more points to move into a tie for eighth place with Lauren Schreiner (2003-06) with 122 points... DuPont is the all-time leader in assists at Utica with 76.

OPPORTUNISTIC DEFENSE: The Pioneers are first in the Empire 8 with 14.25 caused turnovers per game, which also ranks 16^th in the nation… Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) and Patricia Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) are individually first and second, respectively, in caused turnovers in the E8... Megan Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) ranks 21^st in the nation with 3.50 caused turnovers per game, while Patricia Kane (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) is 32^nd nationally with 3.00 per game. 

SCOUTING ALBRIGHT: This is the first time in program history that the Pioneers will face off against the Albright College Lions... The Lions are 6-1-0 and they are currently second in the Middle Atlantic Conference standings... They are coming off of a 20-5 victory over New England College on Sunday... Albright ranks 17^th nationally in scoring offense with 16.50 goals per game... The Lions' head coach, Jen Willis, spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Utica College, from 2008-2011.

LOOKING AHEAD: Utica will return home to face off against SUNY Poly on Tuesday... Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
