UTICA, NY - The Utica College men's tennis team (0-2) opens up its 2015 spring campaign this weekend in Rochester, NY … The Pioneers hit the court in Empire 8 action as they face Nazareth College on Saturday, followed by St. John Fisher College on Sunday.
WEEKEND DETAILS: Saturday's match against Naz will take place at the Nazareth College Tennis Courts and is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. …On Sunday, UC crosses town to face Fisher in Pittsford, NY at the Mendon Racquet and Pool Club for a 2:30 p.m. set start.

PIONEER SPRING CAMPAIGN: After going 0-2 in the Fall losing to Hamilton College and Oswego State, Utica has 11 contests scheduled for the Spring of which six will be on its home court … The schedule includes eight matches in Empire 8 play, four at home and four away.
After this weekend, UC will open up a three game home stand beginning with its home-opener on Tuesday, March 31
st versus Ithaca College (4 p.m.) … The Pioneers then welcome The Sage College Gators (4 p.m.) for a non-conference match on Monday, April 6
th before Empire 8 play picks back up with Alfred (1 p.m.) on Saturday, April 11
th ... Utica will hit the road for one game before returning home for two matches ... The Pioneers travel to Oneonta, NY on Wednesday, April 15
th to challenge Hartwick (4 p.m.) in Empire 8 play.
UC wraps up its Spring schedule with three-of-five at home … Stevens Institute of Technology (3 p.m.) comes to town on Saturday, April 18
th before Oswego State (3:30 p.m.) visits the UC Courts on Wednesday, April 22
nd … The Pioneers will journey to Houghton College (4 p.m.) on Friday, April 24
th for an Empire 8 match against the Highlanders before returning for its final home match of 2015 versus Elmira College (1 p.m.) on Saturday, April 25
th … Utica concludes its campaign on the road in Keuka Park, NY on Monday, April 27
th with a non-conference battle against the Keuka College Wolfpack.
GOLDEN FLYER REPORT: Nazareth is presently winless at 0-6 … The Golden Flyers dropped two matches in the fall to Roberts Wesleyan and Penn State – Behrend, both at home … This season, Naz lost four straight in Hilton Head, SC on its spring trip.
TAKING A LOOK AT THE CARDINALS: St. John Fisher is currently 2-5 overall this season and has been shut out three times thus far … While in Hilton Head, SC in early March, Fisher posed a 1-4 record … This past week, the Cardinals went 1-1 beating D'Youville, 9-0, on the road and losing, 6-3, at home to Oneonta.
